ECMA is Muscogee County School District’s Gifted and Talented Magnet for middle school students. Over 700 letters have been sent to prospective 5th grade students in Muscogee County based on selected standardized test scores. We are also accepting applications from current 6th graders who would like to be in the magnet program in 7th grade. If you know of any student who would benefit from the program, please get their parents to complete an application as soon as possible. Application deadline is March 21st.
"A Family Affair": Family Night Blue & Gold Dance will be held on Friday, March 14 from 6:00-9:00 pm. The cost is $7 for parents & $3 for students who attend with a parent. Tickets for students who attend without a parent is $5.
CRCT Family Night will be held on March 18th. The purpose of this event is to inform parents on how to assist their children in mastering their CRCT skills. Dinner will be served to all who attend. After dinner, parents and students will rotate through their academic classrooms to receive information about how to do the best they can on each portion of the test. Homework coupons & other incentives will be provided to students whose parents participate.
Beginning on March 22, ECMA will host 3 "CRCT Saturday Camps". These camps will consist of two blocks of extra instruction to help prepare students to meet or exceed standards on the CRCT. Students will take courses in Math and Reading/Language Arts. Block 1 will last from 9:00 - 10:30am. Block 2 will last from 10:30 - 12:00pm. Lunch and gym activities will take place from 12:00 - 1:00pm.
The Spring Buyout will be held on Friday, April 4th. The cost is $5 per session. There will be two sessions. Students may participate in both sessions for $10. The concession stand will be open during the afternoon session.
The "Spring Fling" CRCT Carnival event will be held on the afternoon of the last day of testing, April 21. All students who are present each day for testing that week and exhibit appropriate behavior will be allowed to buy a ticket. The carnival will last from 12:00 - 3:30 pm.
