October 31, 2008	Names, Addresses, CRCT Test Scores (7^th Grade Scores of 8^th Graders) of all 5^th and 8^th Grade Students Sent to Middle and High School Magnets (Done through S & DP and Research/Evaluation)
January 5, 2009	Schools Allowed to Make Contact with Potential Students (5^th and 8^th Grade Students)
January 9, 2008	Middle Schools Send Electronic Copy of 8^th Honor Roll, Principal’s Lists and 1^st Semester Grades to Magnet Schools
February 27, 2009	All Middle and High School Magnet Open Houses Completed
March 28, 2009	All Magnet Entrance Exams Completed
April 3, 2009	All Magnet Schools Mail Final Round of Magnet Acceptance Letters
April 24, 2009	Parents/Legal Guardians Required to Return Magnet Acceptance Forms to Schools
April 24, 2009	MCSD Student Assignment Letters Mailed to Parents/Legal Guardians – Hardship Transfer Request Process Begins
May 1, 2009	Magnet Schools Send All Academy/Magnet Transfer Request Forms to Central Registration
May 15, 2009	Parents/Legal Guardians Required to Return Hardship Request Form to Central Registration

Secondary Magnet/Academy Timeline dates and guidelines will be placed on the school district website and all local school websites.
Send flyer listing the Magnet Open House dates to all 5^th and 8^th grade students, also post dates on school district and school websites before Winter Break.
