Academic and Behavior Criteria
Academic Criteria:
Students are expected to maintain a “B” average or better in all subjects each nine weeks. Failure to maintain a “B” average will result in academic probation for a nine-week grading period.
Students must maintain a minimal average of “B” for the academic year.
Behavior Criteria:
Students are expected to adhere to ECMA and MCSD policies.
Students are expected to maintain a “B” or better conduct average each grading period.
The Magnet Coordinator will assess and take appropriate action for students who:
Have three or more tardies in a nine-week period
Have five or more unexcused absences
Have been referred to the office for discipline
Have failed to maintain a “B” or better in conduct each grading period
Have violated any ECMA or MCSD behavior codes
Has participated in academic dishonesty including plagiarism
Violations will be addressed as follows:
First Offense
The student in violation will meet with the Magnet Coordinator. Parent(s) will receive notification of the meeting between the student and coordinator. Probation may result.
Second Offense
The student and parent will meet with the Magnet Review Committee. The student may be placed on probation and/or withdrawn from the program.
